Refrigerator Rollers
Don’t pull a muscle trying to push and pull that refrigerator in order to clean it. Instead, locate the refrigerator rollers that are built in to you fridge, and wheel it away with ease.
Nearly every refrigerator that was built within the last fifteen years includes a set of refrigerator rollers. These rollers are usually attached to the front portion of the fridge, though they may have to be uncovered before you can locate them. Amazingly, most people do not know that their refrigerator contains wheels, but cleaning behind that fridge will be a whole lot easier with a bit of knowledge and know-how.
First, you will have to unplug the unit from the wall, and disconnect the electricity. It is never a wise idea to clean or repair any kind of electric appliance without unplugging it first. Then, remove any food from the unit in order to make sure that you do not wind up with a mess. To keep food at a safe temperature, store it inside of a cooler packed with ice while you are cleaning. Grab on to the refrigerator near the bottom half of the unit, and pull it directly out towards you (do not let it scrape against your floor). At this point your fridge will either slide easily, or you may have to remove the front panel in order to reveal wheels.
If your fridge does not budge, this means that it does not contain any refrigerator rollers. This does not mean that you must go through life tackling the fridge every time you want to clean behind it. Instead, purchase some rollers that can be attached to the bottom of the unit. It is far easier to clean behind your refrigerator when it rolls on wheels than trying to push and pull it constantly. New rollers will not cost you any more than $20, but they will be well worth the effort. You can purchase these wheels online or from your local hardware store.
Some things in life are tough, but other things don’t have to be so tough. When it comes to cleaning your appliance, make life as easy as you possibly can.
Refrigerator rollers might be a part of your current fridge, but if they aren’t…go ahead and purchase some. Cleaning your fridge will result in a longer appliance life, and that’s something that everyone can benefit from.
