Putting Wheels on Refrigerator

Putting wheels on refrigerators might seem like a strange idea, but if you’ve ever had to move a fridge you will understand why this is necessary.

Most refrigerators made within the past fifteen years contain a set of wheels. Even if the front of the fridge does not have wheels, the back of the fridge probably does. Since it is important to clean fridge coils twice per year, putting wheels on refrigerators makes a lot of sense. The good news is that if your fridge does not have wheels, you can easily purchase some online. In fact, owning a fridge that does not have wheels is a lot like owning an oven that does not have a door…it is just necessary.

Why do you need wheels? As previously mentioned, you must clean your fridge two times per year in order to make it function more effectively. This can easily be done by removing the panel on the back of the fridge (towards the bottom), and using a vacuum hose attachment to reach in behind the panels and clean them. No matter how great of a housekeeper you are, there will always be a large amount of dirt, dust, and debris behind your fridge. While cleaning a fridge only takes a few moments, it will ensure that your fridge lasts for a long time.

Before you do any kind of cleaning or repair to your appliances, make sure to unplug them. If you have built in appliances, take the time to turn the circuit breaker off. You do not want to be washing and vacuuming an appliance that is still plugged in. Of course, this means that you must store your food properly prior to cleaning the appliance. To do this, place your food inside of a large cooler that contains ice and work quickly in order to avoid spoiling the food. By putting wheels on refrigerators, cleaning your fridge two times per year will be a snap.

If you find that you cannot add a set of wheels to your fridge, simply use a piece of cardboard to move the fridge back and forth. Cardboard can be inserted towards the edges of the fridge in order to slide it around.

Whether you decide that putting wheels on refrigerators is a good idea or not, finding some type of simple moving system is a good idea.
