Parts of Refrigerator

Though it might seem as though there are many parts of refrigerator, the reality is that this appliance consists of just five different pieces.

The parts of refrigerator are: the compressor; heat exchanging pipes; expansion valve; refrigerant; and another set of heat exchanging pipes. Ever wonder how your refrigerator works? Well, the process is relatively simple, though most people could not live without one today. The refrigerator really begins with the compressor. Without the compressor the fridge could not work efficiently.

The compressors raises the pressure and temperature inside of the fridge in order to allow the first set of outside coils to get rid of the heat caused by pressurization. Once the refrigerant begins to cool, it then turns into a liquid form, and makes its way to the expansion valve. As it moves through the expansion valve, the refrigerant expands and evaporates as the pressure increases and decreases. Essentially, when the refrigerant evaporates it sucks up the heat causing it to turn cold. Once this process has occurred, the other set of coils will help the refrigerant to go on absorbing heat. Then, the entire thing repeats over and over again in order to create a nice cold place for your food.

Though the parts of refrigerator might seem a bit uninteresting, the insides of a fridge are actually a very active place. Most people never think about that refrigerant running through the fridge on a constant basis. It’s interesting to think that many decades ago refrigerators were nothing more than large boxes (or holes in the ground) that contained a very large amount of ice. Today, the modern refrigerator is something that most people tend to take for granted. In fact, the modern fridge has been perfected to such a degree that it is the most reliable appliance within most homes today. Still, this is a far cry from those people in the world that have never known the convenience of a fridge.

There are still countries out there that do not have this basic technology. Although people can survive without a fridge, this appliance is entirely necessary within North America.

Studying the intricacies within the parts of refrigerator will help you to repair the fridge if it begins to act erratically. Who knows, you just might wind up repairing all the refrigerators on the block with your newfound knowledge.
